For a change of pace, here’s a guest post I wrote for the World Learning blog; The Nail That Sticks Out. I had a wonderful day following and getting to know these Japanese participants in the International Visitor Leadership Program. It’s always wonderful to put a person to a name whose arrival you’ve been preparing for.
The International Visitor Leadership Program brings rising experts and leaders to the United States to help them better understand American society, culture, and politics. The goal is to form lasting relationships and better understanding and ties between the US and other countries. Some notable alumni of the program are Margaret Thatcher, Tony Blair, Nicolas Sarkozy, and Indira Gandhi. I love interning at World Learning and this program in particular!
So there you have it, a bit of a snapshot into my après-TAPIF life, even if most days involve a lot more data entry than getting to follow visitors around.
